We knew before that there is a process of some changes inside of Migration office, and as a result the procedure of Residence permit (ikamet) application was changed a bit. As you may know from before, some of the Residence permit types were able to be obtained at district Migration offices (Yabancilar subesi) of Istanbul, but from now on all applications for first ikamet or its extencions can be made only at the main Migration office of Istanbul at Vatan caddesi.
Same about all other privonces, from now on only province center’s migration office will work on documents for foreigners. For example, all towns around Antalya (Alanya, Kemer etc) will have to apply at Antalya office. Or foreigners at Bodrum or Didim will have to go to Mugla. Its hard to imagine how they gonna manage all of that foreigners flow at one place, as even before people were waiting their appointments for few months in Istanbul. There is only a hope that they made changes not only about place of application but also made some reogranization and expansion at their main office to be able to work with a big flow of people otherwise its gonna be a nightmare for foreigners.
